26 January 2015
The Gambia Islamic Council has stated the Muslim Ummah’s position on the Ahamadiya Jammat. The statement, aired by the state TV on Friday night, reads: The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council, being the sole body responsible for the general activities of all Islamic affairs in the country, based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammd (peace be upon him) (“Addeenu-an-Naseeha”) has said religion is an advice, and it is the council’s obligation to clarify any misconception concerning the Islamic religion in The Gambia, based on evidence from authentic references. Therefore, the Council is hereby declaring to the general public, especially the Muslim Ummah in The Gambia on the position of the Muslim Ummah towards Qaduyanisim known as Ahmadiyaa Jamm’at. It is agreed by the entire pre-modern and modern Islamic scholars worldwide, including Pakistan the country of their origin, that Ahmadiyaa Jamm’at are not Muslims based on the following “dalils” (facts). Indeed, in spite of all what the Ahmadiyas use to quote from the Quran and Hadith, they built their beliefs on the following wrong pillars: They believe that Ghulam Ahmad is the Promised Messiah. They believe that Allah the Almighty does fast, pray, sleep, wake, write sign, make mistakes and have sex. The Qadianis believe that prophethood was not sealed by Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him), but is continuing and God sends messengers as necessary, and that Ghulam Ahmad is the best of all the prophets. They say there is no Quran except the one brought by the Promised Messiah and no hadith except in the light of his teachings and no prophet except under the masterhood of Ghulam Ahmad. They believe that every Muslim is Kaafir until he becomes a Qadiyani and, whoever gives a non-Qadiyani a wife or who marries a non Qadiyani woman is a kaafir. They believe that it is not allowed to pray behind a non-Ahmadis (Ahmadi); that is why they created lots of disunity in some remote villages in The Gambia. The position of the Muslims towards the Ahmadiya Jammat In 1953, the people of Pakistan demonstrated and demanded the resignation of Zafarulah Khan, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, and considered the Qadiyani group a non-Muslim minority. The National Council of Pakistan (the Central Parliament) debated with the leader of the group, Mirza Nasir Ahmad. The parliament issued a decision and considered the Qadianis Ahmadist a non-Muslim minority. The Islamic Research Academy in Al-Azhar Shariff renewed its fatwa, legal opinion, that the followers of Ahmadiya are non-Muslims and confirmed that this doctrine has no relation with Islam. A general conference was held (in Makkah) at the headquarters of the Muslim World League in the month of Rabi 1 1494 AH corresponding to April 1974, and was attended by member states and representatives from the International Islamic Organizations from all over the world. The conference declared the Kufr disbelief of this group and that they are outside of the pale of Islam, and called on governments and Muslims to resist the danger they pose and not to deal with Ahmadiyas. Position of the Muslim scholars in The Gambia: They have made huge efforts to stand against this group and clarified that they are outside the pale of Islam, and that was since their appearance in the country in the 1950s. Amongst the scholars were the former Imam Ratib Imam Muhammad Lamin Bah of Banjul, Sheikh Khatab Bojang of Gunjur, Sheikh Karalang Kanteh of Seyfo, Sheikh Muhammad Lamin Federa of Kiang, Sheikh Umar Bun Jeng of Gunjur and Sheikh Jibril Mahdi Kujabi of Tallinding (may Allah have mercy on them) to name a few. Therefore, the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council is declaring that the Ahmadiya Jamaat is a non-Muslim group, which is in line with the legal opinion of the world scientific gatherings, which pronounced the group to be outside the pale of Islam and strongly recommended Muslims not to deal with them religiously.

27 December 2013/23 Safar 1435

Cape Town,

South Africa’s senior aalim, Maulana Ebrahim Adam RA passed away this afternoon at 12h30, virtually at the onset of Jummuah. Ml Adam RA had been ill for the last four years and was recently hospitalised with pneumonia.

The 73-year old Ml Adam AR lead the Pelicane Heights Masjid complex in Cape Town was well known for his research and lectures on a variety of fundamental subjects such as Life After Death and the Unseen. He made up the relatively small contingent of Ulama who promoted Islamic consciousness during the 70s and 80s with cassette recordings.

Despite “problems with his feet and polio”, Ml Adam RA studied at the Darul Uloom in Deoband, India and in Pakistan. He also lectured at the world’s fifth largest masjid in Lahore, the Badshahi Masjid before returning to Stellenbosch where he had been based for much of his later life.

Mufti Abdul Kader Hoosain who visited Ml Adam RA a few weeks ago said, “His contribution to South Africa, Africa and to the world is indelible. At that time when there weren’t any CDs and MP3s and so forth he used to run the series of life after death. Because of his sincerity I think every second Muslim home had the recording.”

In the authentic hadith of Tirmidhi it is stated that Muhammad SAW said, “Whosoever All Mighty Allah gives death on a Friday, the day of Friday or the night of Friday, then All Mighty Allah protects that person from the torment of the qabr.”

Mufti AK described Moulana Adam RA as a man of exemplary character who was humble and sincere.

Ml Adam’s AR wife passed away last Tuesday. His Janaazah will take place after maghrib today around 8pm.

“May All Mighty Allah SWT elevate his rank, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and forgive his sins. He just lost his wife a few days ago. May All Mighty Allah grant his children and family sabreh jameel. We make dua that the ummah still listen to the works of Maulana Ebrahim Adam.

A group of angry students at the Nasir Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School in Basse, Upper River Region (URR) Monday afternoon went on a sit-in after they alleged that some members of the Examination Committee have leaked examination questions to some students in the school. What started as a mere confrontation between the demonstrating students and school authorities soon turned sour after the students set the school’s library ablaze and broke some glasses as a result of stone-throwing.

This reporter who was on the ground said the students described the scandal as “uncalled for and unethical on the part of the teachers who leaked questions”.

Speaking to this reporter at the scene, the school’s acting vice principal, Alfusainey Sidibeh, described the incident as “very unfortunate,” but hastened to assure that all the necessary measures have been considered to establish the cause of the scandal.

Sidibeh reiterated that the demonstration was as a result of some teachers who are part of the Examination Committee leaking question papers to some students; an act he quickly condemned as “unprofessional”.

“I am myself confused because how can teachers leak some exam questions to their students,” he queried. He however noted that the situation is now under control thanks to the intervention of the security personnel in the area.

The principal education officer for Region Six, Momodou G. Jallow, also deplored the situation, saying “as at now we are investigating the matter”.

The lady councilor of Basse, Neneh Darboe, urged the students to desist from such behaviours, while also imploring teachers to work in tandem with the principles and guidelines of the educational policy so as to avoid such situations.

Basse — Four teachers at the Nasir Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School in Basse Upper River Region (URR) and a secretary recently faced a security investigation panel over a recent examination scandal that sparked a sit-in by the students of the said school, reliable sources have informed the Daily Observer.

It came after a group of angry students last week went on a sit-in after they alleged that some members of the Examination Committee had leaked examination questions to some students in the school. Our sources also added that about 17 students were also invited by the panel of investigation to establish the cause of the problem. The teachers, (names withheld) could not be reached for comments.

It would be recalled that the incident last week was condemned by the school’s acting vice principal, Alfusainey Sidibeh, who described it as “very unfortunate”. At that time, he told the Daily Observer that all the necessary measures would be taken to establish the cause of the scandal.

Sidibeh affirmed in an interview with our regional correspondent that the demonstration was as a result of some teachers who are part of the Examination Committee leaking question papers to some students.

“I am myself confused because how can teachers leak examination questions to their students,” he queried. He however noted that the situation is now under control thanks to the intervention of the security personnel in the area.

By Ghana News -www.spyghana.com
Information reaching The Independent has indicated that, the classrooms of Abura Ahmadiyya Junior High Schools in Cape Coast is now being used as sex grounds by the residents of the area.

Sources close to The Independent say students of the school are always seen playing with the used condoms every morning before the arrival of their teachers, a situation which seems dangerous.

The Head teacher of the school, Mr. Appiah Hanson, who confirmed the story to The Independent in an interview said the matter had been reported to the leaders of the community, as well as the authorities but there was no positive response.

“This has made the classrooms unfavourable for teaching and learning,” Mr Hanson told The Independent, adding that, some residents have also made the corridors of the school their kitchen, cooking all kinds of foods.

He continued: “I have once confronted those women who cook on the corridors to stop but the cooks ruin an insult on me.”

Abura Ahmadiyya Junior High Schools has no fence wall, thereby making it possible for residents to use the place for their immoral act conveniently. Mr. Hanson therefore appealed to the Cape Coast Metropolitan and Regional Education Directorate to help address the aforementioned challenges affecting the school.

He again called on stakeholders and benevolent organisations in the educational sector to provide infrastructure for the school.
