The Conservative MP Imran Ahmad Khan has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy after plying him with gin at a party in 2008, with Labour calling on him to immediately resign his seat and trigger a byelection.

The 48-year-old, whose brother Karim is a prosecutor at the international criminal court in The Hague, was warned he may face time in jail. If he receives a sentence of more than 12 months he will automatically be disqualified from being an MP, prompting a byelection in his Wakefield constituency in West Yorkshire.

The judge, Mr Justice Baker, said he would sentence Khan at a date to be fixed.

On Monday evening the Conservatives announced he had been expelled from the party.

A jury at Southwark crown court in London found Khan guilty of assaulting the boy at a party in Staffordshire in January 2008, 11 years before he became an MP. Khan made no comment as he left court but a member of his legal team said he would be appealing.

The victim said he was not “taken very seriously” when he made the allegation to the Conservative party press office in December 2019, days before Khan was elected as Wakefield’s first Tory MP since 1932.

He made a complaint to police days after Khan helped Boris Johnson win a large Commons majority by taking seats including Wakefield in the so-called red wall that had formed Labour’s heartlands in the Midlands and northern England.

Khan tried and failed to ban press reporting of the case, saying his life could be at risk were the case against him made public.

He argued that as an Ahmadi Muslim, the consumption of alcohol and homosexuality are strictly prohibited within his faith, and the reporting of those matters would expose him to “a risk to his safety both here and abroad”.

The court heard that Khan had plied the boy with gin and tonic before dragging him upstairs to watch pornography and groping him in a bunk bed.

Giving evidence, the victim’s parents both broke down in tears as they told how their son was left “inconsolable” and “shaking” after the incident at a house in Staffordshire.

Police were called to the house and the boy reported the incident, telling officers Khan had asked him to “show me some porn” and told him he was a “good-looking boy”, the jury was told.

The 15-year-old did not want to take it any further and the allegation was not pursued at the time, but the complainant went back to police when he found out Khan was standing as an MP in the 2019 general election.

Days before the poll, the complainant said he contacted the Conservative party press office to tell them what he claimed Khan had done to him.

“I explained this and said: ‘He sexually assaulted me when I was a child, when I was 15.’” He said the woman he spoke to sounded “shocked” and passed him on to someone else who sounded more “stern” and asked if he had any “proof”.

“I said ‘Yes, there’s a police report’, and she said ‘Well …’, and that was it.

“I said ‘I’m going to the police’, and she said, ‘Well, you do that.’”

A Conservative party HQ spokesperson said: “We have found no record of this complaint.”

Mary Creagh, the former Labour MP who lost her seat to Khan, told the Guardian she currently had no plans to win the seat back. A Labour party spokesperson said: “Imran Ahmad-Khan should immediately resign so a byelection can take place and the people of Wakefield can get the representation they deserve.”

Khan was suspended from the Conservatives in June 2021 after being charged with sexual assault, and has sat as an independent ever since.

Though he had previously denied being gay, he came out during the trial to defend himself against the allegations from the boy, as well as from two other men who gave corroborating evidence.

He claimed he only touched the Catholic teenager’s elbow when he “became extremely upset” after a conversation about his confused sexuality.

But the jury did not believe him. As well as hearing from the complainant, evidence was given by the boy’s older brother, then 18, who said Khan lifted his kilt, traditionally worn without underwear, at the same party and asked if he was a “true Scotsman”.

The jury also heard evidence from a third man, who said he was sexually assaulted in his sleep by Khan in Pakistan after a party where they were smoking marijuana and drinking whisky.

The man, who was then in his early 20s, told a jury Khan offered him a sleeping pill as they shared a room in a guesthouse in Peshawar, a city in the west of Pakistan. Khan was working on a project for the Foreign Office at the time.

The man said he later woke up to find Khan was performing a sex act on him, having pulled down his boxer shorts, adding: “I pushed him off and told him to stop and said something along the lines of, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’”

Khan’s QC, Gudrun Young, suggested the man’s perception was affected by the alcohol, cannabis and sleeping pill and that, despite being heterosexual, he had consented to sexual activity with Khan.

The man firmly rejected the suggestion. He told the court he had reported the incident to the British High Commission and the Foreign Office, but did not want to go to police in Pakistan because of Khan‘s “powerful connections” in the military and government.

He came forward as a witness after hearing Khan had been charged with sexual assault, the court heard.

If Khan is sentenced to less than a year in jail, he will probably face a recall petition. If 10% of eligible registered voters sign the petition the seat becomes officially “vacant” and a byelection is required. The recalled MP may stand as a candidate.

A separate alleged incident in Pakistan happened almost three years later, in November 2010.

Gay Ahmadi member of the UK Parliament Imran Ahmad Khan, who is on trial for sexually assaulting a 15 years old boy, faces another allegation of performing a sex act on a sleeping British aid worker in Peshawar, Pakistan, where they were working on a Foreign Office funded program in November 2010.

Testifying before the jury on Monday, the aid worker said he did it after giving him a sleeping pill as they shared a room in a guest house in the city of Peshawar. He said he later woke up to find Khan was performing a sex act on him, having pulled down his boxer shorts. He added: ‘I pushed him off and told him to stop and said something along the lines of, “What the f*** are you doing?”‘ The victim was in his early 20s on the time of the alleged incident.

He said he had reported the incident to the British High Commission and the Foreign Office but did not want to go to the police in Pakistan because of Khan’s ‘powerful connections’ in the military and government.

The alleged victim came forward as a witness after hearing Khan had been charged with sexual assault, the court heard. The man said that before the alleged incident: ‘There were definitely times when he got drunk after a few gin and tonics for example.’ He said Khan’s homosexuality was an ‘open secret’ and the MP would sometimes act ‘quite flirtatiously’ or ‘tickle’ him. Jurors heard that on the night of the alleged sexual assault Khan and the man had been at a party where everyone was drinking whisky.

Asked if he had been smoking marijuana, the witness said: “I think generally at these types of events, if it had been there, both Imran and I would have had some.” Khan’s counsel said her client did not like marijuana or the smell of it but the man said: “He has definitely smoked in front of me in the past.”

The MP, who is gay and an Ahmadi, claimed he only touched the Catholic teenager’s elbow when he ‘became extremely upset’ after a conversation about his confused sexuality.

The trial of Imran Ahmad Khan, 47, the Conservative MP for Wakefield, on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy in 2008 in Staffordshire started March 21.

On December 16 last year, Khan appeared at the Old Bailey in London via video-link and the case was transferred to Southwark Crown Court where his trial was scheduled. The defendant, who is on unconditional bail, has been suspended by the Conservative Party and sits in the Commons as an independent.

After his elections, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya UK had congratulated Khan. Its official Twitter handle – @AhmadiyyaUK – on December 13, 2019, said, “Congratulations, best wishes and prayers for success in building a peaceful world to @imranahmadkhan, on becoming Member of Parliament for Wakefield. Imran Ahmad-Khan is the first-ever member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community elected as a Member of British Parliament.”

Khan’s father belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan and had moved to England. He denied the allegation “in the strongest terms”, saying “I am innocent” in a statement posted on Twitter. He was elected at the 2019 general election.

A Danish man who posed a video of himself setting fire to the Quran on Facebook has been charged with blasphemy in the first such prosecution for 46 years. The 42-year-old suspect put the clip, entitled “Consider your neighbour: it stinks when it burns” to a group called “YES TO FREEDOM – NO TO ISLAM” in December 2015. Jan Reckendorff, from the public prosecutor’s office in Viborg, said: “It is the prosecution’s view that circumstances involving the burning of holy books such as the Bible and the Quran can in some cases be a violation of the blasphemy clause, which covers public scorn or mockery of religion. “It is our opinion that the circumstances of this case mean it should be prosecuted so the courts now have an opportunity to take a position on the matter.” Judges in Aalborg will heard the case, although a date has not yet been set. The maximum sentence for blasphemy is four months in prison but Mr Reckendorff said prosecutors were more likely to seek a fine. Copies of the Quran are treated with reverence by Muslims and any move to desecrate or destroy the holy book is seen as a grave insult. Rumours of Quran burnings have sparked arrests, lynchings and riots in Muslim-majority countries, while the move has been appropriated by the far-right and anti-Islamic groups, including the Westboro Baptist Church in America.

http://ahmadiyyawatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Danish-man-who-videoed-himself-burning-the-Quran-charged-wit.mp4

Under clause 140 of Denmark’s penal code, anyone can be imprisoned or fined for publicly insulting or degrading religious doctrines or worship. Only four blasphemy prosecutions have ever been attempted in the country. The last was in 1971, when two Denmark Radio producers were acquitted after airing a song mocking Christianity. Two people were previously fined in 1946 after acting out a “baptism” at a ball in Copenhagen, while four others were sentenced for putting up anti-Semitic posters and leaflets in 1938. At least a dozen other cases have been considered but not charged, including in 2006 when prosecutors decided to stop an investigation into the Jyllands-Posten newspaper over a controversial set of caricatures under the headline “The Face of Mohamed”. The publication sparked protests around the world, with insulting the Prophet seen as a grave offence to Muslims and Islamic scholars interpreting Quran verses on idolatry to forbid any representation of Mohamed.

6 April 2016
The Muslim Council of Britain, who are the largest Muslim umbrella organisation in the UK, have issued a statement reaffirming their position on the Ahmadiyya sect as non-Muslims.

The following statement was issued by the MCB yesterday on their website:

“The Muslim Council of Britain has received requests as to where it stands with regard to the Ahmadiyya community.

“The MCB fully subscribes to pluralism and peaceful coexistence and acknowledges the rights of all to believe as they choose without coercion, fear and intimidation.

“We affirm the right of Ahmadis to their freedom of belief and reject any attacks on their property or persons. They have the right to live free from discrimination or persecution. The targeting of Ahmadis for their beliefs is totally unacceptable.

“The Muslim Council of Britain reflects the clear theological position expressed across Islamic traditions: namely that the cornerstone of Islam is to believe in One God and in the finality of the Prophethood of the Messenger Muhammad, peace be upon him. We understand that this is not a tenet subscribed to by the Ahmadi community. The MCB Constitution requires our affiliates to declare that Messenger Muhammad peace be upon him is the final prophet and whoever does not subscribe to that declaration cannot be eligible for affiliation with the MCB. Given this fundamental theological difference with the Ahmadi community, the MCB is not in a position to represent or be represented by the Ahmadi community.

“Despite our clear theological beliefs, we note that pressure is mounting to describe this community as Muslim. Muslims should not be forced to class Ahmadis as Muslims if they do not wish to do so, at the same time, we call on Muslims to be sensitive, and above all, respect all people irrespective of belief or background.

“As with all faith communities, and with genuinely held theological beliefs, we nevertheless extend our hand of friendship and cooperation for the common good of all.

“The MCB believes that all individuals and places of worship must be respected. It unequivocally condemns all forms of intimidation and violence against people of all faiths and none. The MCB condemns all attacks on all places of worship of other religions and beliefs.”

Birmingham.18 November 2014 Last updated at 18:25
neurosurgeon has been jailed for 16 years after being found guilty of nine indecent assaults against patients at two Birmingham hospitals.
Nafees Hamid, 51, had denied a total of 15 charges relating to 10 women between 2009 and 2013 at the city’s Queen Elizabeth and Priory hospitals.
A jury at Birmingham Crown Court convicted him of assaults on six patients.
In passing sentence, the judge said it was “the most extreme breach of trust”.
Judge Patrick Thomas QC, who heard that Hamid will now be struck off, also ordered him to sign the sex offender register for life.
“Start Quote

The trust between a doctor and his patient is sacred and the fact that it has been breached in this way is despicable”

Dame Julie Moore
Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals NHS Trust
He told Hamid witnesses had spoken highly of his clinical skills, but he had been “brought low by a simple failing – lust”.

“And you exercised your lust as a result of arrogance,” he said.

“These ladies went to see you because they had significant problems and they thought – with your skills, abilities and experience – you were the person who could help them with the medical problems.

“Instead, you grossly abused them.”

During the eight-week trial the spinal surgery specialist, of Russell Road, Moseley, Birmingham, told the court some of the alleged attacks did not happen, while others were legitimate examinations which had been misconstrued.

However, one expert witness told jurors Hamid had performed “inappropriate and medically unjustifiable” examinations, ignoring General Medical Council guidelines.

‘Sickened’ colleagues
Among the victims he was convicted of assaulting was a woman in her mid-20s whose complaint led to Hamid’s arrest in November 2013.

The patient, who cannot be named, told jurors she felt “frozen to the spot” as she was subjected to an assault at the private Priory Hospital in 2013.

The eight other counts on which Hamid was convicted relate to five women who attended hospital for a variety of complaints between January and September 2012.

Det Insp Ian Ingram, from West Midlands Police, praised the first woman for her courage in coming forward.

“She went home, spoke to her family, and straight away contacted the police,” he said.

Mr Ingram said the delays in the other five victims coming forward showed the “power” Hamid had over them.
“He was in that position of trust. They doubted whether they would be believed, doubted whether it was medically justified what he had done,” he said.
He said police could not rule out the chance that more patients were abused by Hamid.

“It may be that we get further victims come forward. It’s important that if they do, we will help them,” Det Insp Ingram continued.

“And it might show that it’s been occurring over a longer period.”

The Crown Prosecution Service said Hamid had used his position to carry out “intrusive and inappropriate examinations on vulnerable women” to satisfy his “personal sexual gratification”.
Crown advocate Aliya Rashid said the examinations had left the women “shocked, confused, embarrassed and deeply upset”.

The court heard Hamid encouraged some of his patients to remove their clothing and on occasions, removed their clothes himself without a chaperone present.
‘Brought disrepute’
Speaking after the conclusion of the trial Dame Julie Moore, chief executive of Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals NHS Trust, said she and her colleagues had been “sickened” by the surgeon’s actions.

“We’re deeply sorry that these offences have occurred and brought disrepute to his profession,” she said.

“The trust between a doctor and his patient is sacred and the fact that it has been breached in this way is despicable.”

The Priory Hospital said safety was its first priority and Hamid’s contract was suspended as soon as concerns came to light and had set up a dedicated phone line for patients who might have concerns.

The Queen Elizabeth hospital trust said it would now complete its own investigation.

Its inquiries have already revealed an email from a patient sent to the trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service in 2009, complaining of “inappropriate behaviour” by Hamid during an outpatient appointment.
The trust said its executive team were not aware of the email until letters were sent out to the surgeon’s patients in November 2013.

It said the member of staff who dealt with this complaint no longer works at the Trust and guidelines had been reinforced to current staff.
11 September 2014
A respected neurosurgeon sexually assaulted ten of his female patients before falsifying their medical records to ‘cover his tracks’, a court heard yesterday.
Nafees Hamid, 50, is accused of groping the women, aged between 22 and 66, during medical examinations, often while making lewd sexual remarks.
Hamid was aroused while he made the ‘intimate examinations’, Birmingham Crown Court heard.
A jury was told he would either ask the women to remove their clothes, or on some occasions remove them himself without warning.
He would then touch them inappropriately and repeatedly, sometimes for prolonged periods and without wearing surgical gloves, the court heard.
Some of the alleged victims were also complimented on their physical appearance and asked invasive questions about their sexual history. According to neurosurgeon Patrick Stratham, the doctor had no reason to carry out such medical examinations and most women were experiencing unrelated problems with their necks and spines.
Hamid, who worked at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the city’s private Priory clinic for more than a decade, denies 14 counts of sexual assault between May 2009 and June last year.
Jonas Hankin, QC, prosecuting, told the court: ‘Nafees Hamid was a consultant in neurosurgery who dealt with disorders affecting the skull, spine and nervous system.
‘It is the prosecution’s case that he performed unnecessary and medically unjustifiable intimate examinations on each of the ten women.
‘He ignored General Medical Council guidelines about intimate examinations and failed to record the examination’s findings in case records so as to cover his tracks.
‘His purpose in touching the private parts of these women was not medical but sexual.
‘In failing to observe the first rule of medicine, to do no harm, he betrayed the trust of his patients and his fellow professionals.’ He said that Hamid often ‘avoided having a chaperone’, which any patient can legally ask for during medical examinations.

One patient, who was the first to report the alleged crimes last November, told officers that he had asked her to lie on a bed then, when she looked away, he undid the button and zip on her skirt.
‘The patient had been to see the surgeon with back and urinary problems,’ said Mr Hankin, who added that she told police Hamid had touched her intimately.
The court heard she was ‘left frozen to the spot’ before he told her ‘you are a sweet girl’. The alleged victim then ran outside the hospital and ‘burst into tears’.
The ordeal left her feeling ashamed and embarrassed,’ Mr Hankin said. ‘An expert says these examinations should have been done by a specialist gynaecologist, not a neurosurgeon.’
The jury was told about another patient, a 42-year-old woman whom he saw on several occasions who had a neck injury and resulting urinary incontinence.
Mr Hankin said: ‘He told her she had a “beautiful body”, asked her when she had orgasms, if she masturbated and then asked her to show him how.
‘The examination was entirely inappropriate as her problem was in the neck.
‘Eventually he told her he could no longer care for her as he had developed feelings for her.’
The alleged assaults at The Priory (pictured) and Queen Elizabeth hospitals are alleged to have taken place between May 2009 and June 2013
The court heard Hamid, of Moseley, Birmingham, trained in Pakistan and moved to Britain in 2000.
After the first patient reported him and a criminal investigation began, a letter was sent to all of Hamid’s female patients saying an unnamed doctor had been accused of misconduct. This is when his other victims came forward.
Mr Hankin said: ‘He will argue that in some cases what he did was medically justified and that in others that allegations are incorrect, that the assaults never happened.
‘The fact that these women reported what had happened separately makes it legitimate and not the result of malicious intention.’
The trial continues.

The Muslim community of Luton expects LoS to disassociate itself from the contents of the advertisement by making a corresponding printed statement on next Sunday.

An article of similar size to be printed by LoS to correct the misrepresentation depicted in the advertisement.

The meeting lasted about an hour in pleasant atmosphere. In which they apologized to Muslims. And told that this was a paid advertisement although this wasn’t been mentioned clearly and secondly they were not aware of the situation and content of article.

They promised they will disassociate themself from the contents of the advertisement by making a corresponding printed statement on next Sunday.

An article of similar size will be printed by LoS to correct the misrepresentation depicted in the advertisement.

14.10.2013

Germany.

To stop the already widely known in the Pakistani congregation campaign against the sectarian activities of the Ahmadiyya community,by means of Islamic religious instruction at German schools, Samina Khan, the constituency assistant to Barbara Cardenas member of the Hessian State Parliament for the Left Party was. is dismissed.

Samina Khan herself District councilor in the Offenbach district and has a term of three years ago. Barbara Cardenas, who has his constituency in the district of Offenbach, has for a long time supporter of the Ahmadiyya community. The former administrative judge Horstschäfer is an ardent follower of the Ahmadiyya community, recently he has filed a civil action against a fellow and member of the Chingaree forum.

Barbara Cardenas is a close confidante of Horstschäfer. Through the joint action of the Ahmadiyya officials and these two people

Samina Khan was dismissed because of the campaign against the growing influence of religious sects in Germany and Europe. Samina Khan was 6 years constituency assistant and went about their work conscientiously.

This one-sided partisanship shows the growing nervousness of the followers of religious sects.

Without a doubt, this is an act of revenge for the fight for justice and against the dissemination of state-funded religious hatred is ended. This makes possible that this dangerous sectarian thinking can continue to poison the minds of children in German schools.

The social consensus to be brought into doubt and hawked by infiltration into the Middle Ages, which is contrary to the thinking of the 21st Century

Samina Khan explained to her release: “We make such a vile and corrupt attacks from nothing. Such practices have always been components of civil rights movements.I just wonder about the timing, because I’ve expected much earlier. That it has taken so long but then,I was very surprised. Nevertheless, rather late than never, because now I can without fear and with more courage to fight against injustice. I can now more widely for the interests of the Pakistani labour movement me.I am of the opinion that the dignity and freedom of man, overcoming classes and social progress can only be made through the eradication of a slave mentality.”
