Notice To Medical Official For Bail Plea In Blasphemy Case

An Additional District and Sessions Judge on Wednesday issued notice to the medial officials concerned after a female, accused of blasphemy, pleaded for her bail for her medical checkup.
On Wednesday, accused Waleeha Irafaat filed an application wherein she pleaded for her medical checkup and said she has been suffering from ‘mood disorder’- a psychological problem and needed proper medication. She said that for said purpose she was in need of bail.
The FIR was registered by complainant Abdul Monam Shah against accused Waleeha Bibi in Factory Area police under section 295/B. The complaint stated that he was working as security guard at Punjab Society near DHA. On March 3,he was patrolling at 5:00am when Saim Bibi, his neighbor, made hue and cry. When asked, she told him that Waleeha was desecrating Quran. He along with Boota, a resident of the area, entered her home and saw she was sitting on Quran and using derogatory language. Factory Area police had registered a case against Waleeha Iraafat as she was alleged of tearing two copies of the Holy Quran and spreading that torn copies in her room in the Factory Area.
