Witnesses summoned in blasphemy case

An Additional District and Sessions Court on Tuesday summoned more prosecution witnesses by October 10 in blasphemy accused Sawan Masih case allegedly involved in committing blasphemy which caused arson of more than 150 houses in Joseph Colony. On Tuesday, the court recorded statement of a prosecution witness and summoned other witnesses. SPs including Multan Khan, M.Ameen Bukhari and Sub Inspector Sabir were prosecution witnesses. In previous proceedings held in jail, the judge had framed charges on the accused. Complainant Shahid Imran stated in the FIR that he was walking in early morning and when he reached in front of a godown of his neighbor named Muhammad Shafique met him. They were talking with each other when accused Sawan Masih appeared and used derogatory language against Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) upon which they asked him not to use derogatory language but he did not pay heed to them. Later, they tried to hold him but he managed to escape from the scene. He got registered an FIR against Sawan under section 295/C of PPC in Badami Bagh police Station.
