Lahore – Religio-political parties on Saturday observed Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Day with the pledge to continue the struggle to counter conspiracies and propaganda against Islam.  In Lahore, the Sunni Ittehad Council held conferences at Aiwan-e-Iqbal and Johar Town wherein clerics pledged to fight against elements conspiring against the Ummah.  Different religious organisations also took out rallies to mark the day. The participants were chanting slogans and waving banners. They said they would not leave any stone unturned to foil such plots.

A Khatm-e-Nabuwwat conference was held at Markazi Jamia Masjid Kinzul Imaan by Muhafizaan-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Pakistan.
Mufti Neebur Rahman, Sarwat Ijaz Qadri, Raghib Naeemi and others addressed the occasion. Separately, a conference was held at Lytton Road wherein Khan Muhammad Qadri and Allama Razaul Mustafa were keynote speakers.  In Lakki Marwwat, activists took out a rally to mark the day.  The rally started from Eidgah and converged at Kargil Chowk on main bus stop after passing through Michenkhel, Saeedkhel, Mela Mandi and Meenakhel bazaars.  The participants carried banners inscribed with their demands.   They also blocked Bannu-Mianwali Road on Kargil Chowk for some time. They demanded the government release Mumtaz Qadri and remove Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advocate General Abdul Latif. They also demanded the government ban publication and preaching of anti-Islam literature.
